All of The Nest practitioners have the highest level of training in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine - NCCAOM and LAc certifications, which are rigorous postgraduate degrees with over 2,700 hours of training. All of our treatments include highly personalized recommendations and care. We can produce Superbills for patients who qualify for insurance reimbursement.

Qualifying returning patient visits are for patients who have been out of care for 6 months or more. Your appointment will feel like an initial visit.
Herbal consultations:

This is a 20 minute visit- review of health history and pulse and abdominal diagnosis. Patent or custom Chinese herbal prescriptions are an additional charge.
Placenta encapsulation

We offer a free 15 minute in-office consultation with pulse diagnosis prior to delivery so that we may tailor your placenta pills to your postpartum needs We recommend scheduling this appointment around 37 weeks.

This comprehensive treatment package was designed for women who are ready to kick-start their fertility voyage! Twice weekly follow up acupuncture sessions, over the course of three months, allows the body to decompress from daily stressors, promote blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, supports hormone balance and increases an overall sense of health and well-being.
During the first, visit we will establish a treatment plan that includes: acupuncture, dietary and supplement recommendations, Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions (as needed), and lifestyle changes. During the course of treatment, we may employ moxibustion, cupping/gua sha, at no extra charge.
Increased frequency of treatments accelerates blood flow, addresses stagnation, and supports stress reduction while promoting positive pregnancy outcomes.
Once pregnant, we continue our work with promoting blood flow to the uterus and developing fetus. Regular acupuncture treatment during the first trimester also helps to combat unwanted early pregnancy symptoms such as: fatigue, headaches, nausea/vomiting, anxiety, threatened miscarriage/recurrent miscarriage, chorionic hematomas/bleeding.. to name a few.
The goal is to maintain harmony within the uterine environment and to help keep mamas-to-be calm and feeling their best.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many acupuncture sessions do you need?
We recommend starting acupuncture treatment as soon as possible. Did you know that it takes approximately 100 days for egg and sperm to develop? Take advantage of the time prior to procedure or trying to conceive naturally to give your body some extra TLC. Egg and sperm health respond positively to acupuncture, herbs, dietary and lifestyle changes and nutritional supplementation.

Do you work directly with any reproductive endocrinology clinics?

What do I wear for my appointment?
You have the option to wear loose fitting clothing, change into shorts/tank, or use a gown provided by The Nest.
Do you take health insurance?
The Nest will provide coded superbills to patients upon request so that they may submit to their insurance provider for reimbursement.
For uninsured patients or patients who do not wish to submit to insurance, treatment package options are available for purchase.

Do the needles hurt?
Needles used for acupuncture are hair-fine, sterile, and disposable. The sensations a patient feels from the needles vary from person to person, but generally needle insertions are not painful. Patients often describe a heavy, warm, or tingling sensation when they are resting with their needles. Most patients report a state of deep relaxation and an overall sense of well-being during and after a treatment.
